THE GAUCHO AND THE WIND HORSES

Feature-length documentary
Pablo, a man deeply rooted in the rural traditions of the Uruguayan countryside, discovers the teachings of Tibetan Buddhism. Guided by these principles, he embarks on a transformative journey to rescue horses from slaughterhouses, seeking to reconcile his cultural heritage with his spiritual practice.
“El Gaucho y los Caballos de Viento” is an international documentary that addresses universal themes such as the pursuit of freedom and personal growth. The “wind horse,” in Buddhist cosmology, is a metaphor for the human soul and symbolizes prosperity. Through the interaction between Gaucho tradition and Buddhist principles, we will embark on a journey of personal and cultural discovery, where deeply rooted conceptions will be challenged, new perspectives will be opened, and the possibility of reconciling the apparent contradictions between the earthly and the spiritual will be explored.
